This Privacy Collection Notice describes how EduTrail Australia Pty Ltd (ACN 699 846 510) (we, us or our) collects and handles your personal information when you create an account to use our educational planning platform. We collect personal information from you (including information about your children) and from third parties (such as our cookies and analytics providers) so that we can provide services to you and for related purposes set out in our Privacy Policy, available on our website (or on request).

We collect information about your children, including sensitive information about special needs and learning requirements. By creating an account and providing information about your child, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian and consent to our collection and use of your child’s information.

We may disclose this personal information to third parties, including our personnel, related entities, any third parties engaged by us and acting on our behalf and as otherwise set out in our Privacy Policy.

If you use the school zone check, we collect your home address to find the government school your child is zoned for. As you type, the part of the address you have typed is sent to Google to suggest matching addresses; it is not kept. We send the address to Google, which turns it into a map location for us, and compare that location with the Victorian Department of Education’s published school zones. We keep the address encrypted so the answer can be updated when new zones are published. Only you can see it, and you can remove it at any time from the zoning step; it is also removed if you delete your child’s profile or your account.

When you sign in, we record the time, the type of device and browser you used, and an approximate area (such as a suburb and state) worked out from your internet connection. We do not keep your internet address. We also record which parts of the platform you use, such as opening a guide or saving your details, but not what you write. We use this to help you when you contact us and to understand how the platform is used. Only EduTrail staff can see it. We keep sign-in records for 90 days and other activity records for 12 months, and both are deleted with your account.

We store personal information in Australia. Where we disclose your personal information to third parties, those third parties may store, transfer or access personal information outside of Australia.

If you do not provide your personal information to us, it may affect our ability to provide our services to you.

We collect personal information from you and from third parties (such as your school and our cookies and analytics providers) so that we can provide services to you and for related purposes set out in our Privacy Policy, available on our website (or on request).

We collect information about you, including sensitive information about special needs and learning requirements. Where your school or educational institution has arranged your access to our platform, we rely on that school’s confirmation that it has appropriate authority to permit your use of our services, as set out in our Terms and Conditions.

Where a careers teacher is given access to a learner’s Career Action Plan, or the school set up the learner’s account, that school’s careers staff can see the plan, including the term actions the learner has completed and the ones they have set aside, which milestones the learner has marked done (but not the notes they write on them) and any due dates they set, what the learner says about how their actions and milestones went, the pathway they say they are leaning towards, earlier saved versions of the plan, the times of plan discussions with the careers team, and any Morrisby profile the learner has added to it (but not the Morrisby report file itself). Staff cannot change any of it. Anything the learner marks as private to them, and anything in their own notes, is not visible to school staff.
